Displaced Families

 

 

ANBAR

 

  • An MP from Anbar says the Iraqi government didn’t do its job in providing the displaced people with basic services. He also says the camp tents in Bzaibiz were destroyed by a strong sandstorm.

Another Sunni MP says many displaced children died because of the recent heat wave.

  • The Chairman of the District Council of Ameriyat Al-Falluja asks the Iraqi government to open the roads and let the food supplies reach the district. He says it ran out of the necessary supplies because of the large numbers of displaced families from other areas in Anbar.

 

  • The Commander of the Iraqi Golden Division, General Fadhel Birwari, says 10,000 Sahwa fighters in Anbar are “ghost soldiers” and don’t really exist. He also says Iraqi forces are holding their ground in many areas inside Ramadi and Daesh cannot attack the safe areas there. He says there will be military operations in the coming days to help displaced families from Anbar to return to their homes and hold the ground.

 

  • The Commander of Badr Militia says the PMFs and security forces liberated Thirthar establishment north of Ramadi and broke the siege on 90 Iraqi soldiers who were trapped there.

 

  • Anbar Police Commander says 1,700 local police personnel, who left their positions when Daesh attacked Ramadi, have reported to their jobs in Habbaniya base east of Ramadi.

 

  • Local sources in Ramadi say Ali Atiyya Al-Jubouri, the blind “judge” of Daesh and one of its five top leaders, led the prayers in Ramadi’s main mosque on Wednesday.

 

  • A local source in Anbar says Daesh killed 19 civilians in Albu Ghannam area by shocking them with electric cables.

 

  • The MoD says Iraqi Army Aviation bombed a sniper’s hideout and destroyed an IED factory in Qarma.

Daesh says it killed the military commander of Kata’eb Hezbollah in Qarma.

The MoD also says Baghdad Operations Command continued its operations in Qarma killing 13 terrorists and destroying several hideouts and vehicles during the last 2 days.

  • Iraqi Minister of Defense sends his advisor to the family of the Iraqi soldier who was hanged by Daesh terrorists in Falluja. Several other Iraqi officials visited or contacted the family.

 

  • Unconfirmed news that Iranian General Qassem Sulaimani is in Anbar with several other Iranian advisors.

 

  • Daesh publishes a video about destroying the guest house of Hameed Al-Hayes, a tribal leader from Anbar.

 

SALAHUDDIN

 

  • The Chairman of the Security and Defense Committee in the Iraqi Parliament says Iraqi Joint Forces managed to liberate Jazeera Samarra, killing 63 Daesh soldiers and arresting four of them disguised in women’s clothes.

He also says Iraqi forces and PMFs supported by Iraqi Army Aviation liberated several areas between Salahuddin and Anbar and reached Thirthar Dam.

Daesh says a suicide bomber attacked the Iraqi forces during the operations in north Baghdad.

A security source says Iraqi forces liberated Sayyed Ghareeb in southwest Samarra completely from Daesh and removed all IEDs in the area.

Local sources say 3 Popular Mobilization Forces’ fighters were killed and 16 injured in Sayyed Ghareeb.

  • The MoD says Iraqi Air Force launched airstrikes on Daesh near Samarra killing 12 terrorists.

The MoD also says the Coalition launched an airstrike on a Daesh mortar battalion and killed all the terrorists there.

The MoD says Salahuddin Operations Command launched an attack on Daesh in areas around Baiji Refinery and killed 7 terrorists.

  • Local sources say Daesh destroyed the Babeer gate of a 4,500 year old Assyrian castle in Shirqat.
  • A member of Salahuddin Governorate Council says Iraqi security forces started to distribute the names and the photos of Daesh terrorists at checkpoints.

 

BAGHDAD

 

  • A source in the MoI says two car bombs exploded one in the Sheraton Hotel in downtown Baghdad and the other in Babel Hotel in Karrada. The source says people were killed or injured in the two explosions. (video)

A source in the Iraqi Police says another car bomb was defused in Babel Hotel.

 

  • Iraqi Military Intelligence says a cell of Daesh terrorists were arrested in south Baghdad and loads of explosives were confiscated from their hideout. (video)

A source in the Iraqi MoI says one civilian was killed and 4 injured when a sticker IED exploded under a small bus in Sadr City.

Daesh says it attacked the Iraqi Army and PMFs with a car bomb in Sadr City.

Another source in MoI says 2 people were killed and 8 injured in an IED explosion near trade shops in Saidiya in south Baghdad.

Five Sahwa members and policemen were killed or injured when an IED exploded at their checkpoint in Mada’en in south Baghdad.

Eight people were killed or injured in an IED explosion near a popular market in Saba’ Al-Bor in north Baghdad.

A security source says Iraqi security forces arrested a terrorist in Ameriya west of Baghdad and seized 19 IEDs and other weapons and equipment. The source also says the man admitted he was responsible for a recent explosion in the area.

  • Iraqi Ministry of Health says it finished the DNA test for the alleged body of Saddam’s deputy Izzat al-Douri but it can’t confirm the results because it has no samples of his or his relatives’ DNA. The MoH also says it received 470 bodies of Speicher massacre victims so far.
  • A leader in Kata’eb Hezbollah says the Qatari foreign affairs minister is visiting Iraq to negotiate release of Daesh Qatari terrorists captured by Iraqi forces.

 

DIYALA

 

  • The Mayor of Saadiya says the Iraqi military is digging a trench around the town to prevent Daesh from returning. The town was under Daesh control for 6 months last year.

 

  • A security source says a woman was killed and 4 other people injured in an IED explosion in Muqdadiya northeast of Baquba.

 

NINEWA

 

  • Iraqi Parliament voted to dismiss of Ninewa Governor Atheel Al-Nujaifi. The Governor has the right to appeal in court.

Nujaifi says the dismissal happened because of his recent visit to DC and because he refused to let the PMFs participate in Ninewa liberation. He also says he hasn’t received an official letter about his dismissal and he is still the governor of Ninewa.

Former Ninewa Operations Commander, currently Al-Jazeera Operations Commander, says Nujaifi was responsible for the fall of the Mosul when he changed the security leadership in the city.

A source in the IP says 2 Sunni MPs from different blocs had a fist fight about the vote.

  • Kata’eb Al-Mosul says one of their snipers killed two Daesh fighters guarding a storehouse near the sugar factory in Mosul.

 

  • The MoD says intelligence sources confirm that Daesh is facing more splits and many of its terrorists are leaving Mosul towards Syria.

 

  • An MP from the Kurdistan Alliance in the Iraqi Parliament says KRG President Barzani says he will not answer the questions sent to him by the IP’s Mosul Fall Investigative Committee.   Barzani says he has nothing to do with Mosul fall.

 

  • The Mayor of Sinjar District in west Ninewa says Daesh attacked the Nasr area inside the district. The defense forces stopped the attack and killed 10 terrorists.

 

  • An official in the PUK says Daesh executed 3 Kurdish citizens in Mosul by smashing their heads with concrete bricks after accusing them of collaborating with the Peshmerga.

 

  • A Colonel in the Peshmerga says the Coalition launched airstrikes based on information from them on 4 Daesh hideouts in Makhmour destroying all four of them and killing many Daesh terrorists.

Another source in the Peshmerga says the Coalition launched a major airstrike on Daesh in Al-Asheq village also based on Peshmerga information.

 

MISCELLANEOUS

 

  • The commander of the Tajik Special Forces arrived to Syria and joined Daesh terrorists.

 

  • Kurdish forces say they killed 184 Daesh terrorists during the last 3 days in Sary Kania in Syria.

 

  • They say also they liberated 2 villages in the area.

 

 

  • Daesh says it stopped refining crude oil and moved it to the desert “fearing for Muslims’ health”.

 

  • Daesh publishes photos of its attack on the Libyan forces in Nawaqiya in Benghazi.

 

  • Daesh publishes more photos of food distribution in Sinai.

 

  • Daesh’s Oqba Bin Nafi’ terrorist group in Tunisia warns people not to use Tunisian airlines after June 2nd, the same date as the “Open Skies” agreement between Tunisia and the European Union.
