NATIONAL NEWS

Prime Minister Abadi’s spokesman says the Iraqi government will not allow anyone to hurt the civilians in Falluja. He also says the Iraqi government delayed the attack on Falluja to protect the civilians.

He says the statement of a PMF commander doesn’t represent the Iraqi government or the PMFs, and he is not even on the battlefield in Falluja. A PMF commander had appeared in a video calling Falluja “the head of the snake.” [Mada] [Sumaria]

The spokesman also says that neighboring countries should refrain from using sectarian rhetoric while covering the Falluja battles. [Sumaria]

Abadi also met with the ambassadors of Islamic countries and assured them that the PMFs are rejecting anyone who uses sectarian language. [Sumaria]

The PMF Commission also rejected the commander’s statement and said he is not authorized to speak on behalf of the PMFs. [Sumaria]

Speaker Jubouri says Iraqi forces should not adopt the “sectarian language” and should implement a professional operation in Falluja as they did in Rutba. [Mada]

 

Prime Minister Abadi met with the UN rep in Iraq and discussed the reforms and the Falluja battles and the Iraqi government efforts to secure the civilians. [Sumaria]

 

A Turkmen MP says the Turkmen will not participate in the Sunday CoR session because the new cabinet has no Turkmen member in it. [Sumaria]

The Combined Joint Task Force says the Coalition conducted 15 airstrikes on Daesh in Iraq, in or near Falluja (3), Habbaniya (3), and Baghdadi; Baiji; and Mosul (3), Qayara, Sultan Abdullah (2), and Kasik . [CJTF]

 

BAGHDAD

The Deputy Chairman of the Baghdad PC Security Committee says security force were deployed extensively in Baghdad anticipating Daesh sleeper cells attacks during the Falluja liberation operations. [Mawazin]

However, these did not materialize. The Chairman of the Security Committee says Daesh is tied down with the Falluja battle and can no longer conduct terrorist attacks in Baghdad. He also says 1,200 PMF fighters, mostly from Badr and AAH, were deployed around Baghdad in coordination with the Baghdad Operations Command to secure the capital. [BasNews]

A source says police forces captured a Daesh suicide terrorist in Khadimiya. The terrorist is from Mosul and was equipped with an explosives vest in a guesthouse in Tarmiya. Security forces are looking for 3 more suicide terrorists. [Mada] [Harbi]

Daesh says its terrorists killed five Iraqi soldiers and damaged a Humvee in clashes in Tarmiya. Daesh says the clashes are ongoing. [JustPaste]

An MoI source says two Iraqi Army officers and three soldiers were killed when an Iraqi Army unit raided a Daesh guesthouse in Tarmiya. The source says snipers shot at the troops and 2 IEDs exploded on them. [Mada]

The Sunni alliance had yesterday accused “sectarian militias” of trying to instigate problems and change the demography in Tarmiya. [Mada]

The IFP commander says 80% of Daesh terrorists who were killed so in the Falluja battles were foreigners. [Sumaria]

 

Hadi Al-Ameri, the Badr commander, says Falluja will be liberated within days and not months like Ramadi. [Harbi] He says the PMFs will not enter Falluja city and their goal is to surround it. [Sumaria]

A Shia PMF commander refutes statements reported yesterday about indiscriminate shelling. He says there has been no arbitrary shelling or rocketing on Falluja. He says security forces have sources in the city that provide them with GPS coordinates.

Later the commander also says the tribal PMFs will hold ground in Falluja and not the Shia PMFs. However, the PMF Commission said the commander’s statement does not reflect the Commission’s opinion and he is not authorized to speak on behalf of the Commission. [Harbi] [SotIraq]

A security force say security forces arrested a senior Saraya Al-Salam commander in Diwaniya after an arrest warrant issued against him in 2008 was reactivated. [Ghad]

Northeast (Hasaka, Raqqa)

Coalition warplanes launched extensive airstrikes today on Daesh in Raqqa, killing or wounding many terrorists. Coalition planes dropped more leaflets on Raqqa asking people to leave the city. [Qasioun]

 

The spokesman of the SDF says the SDF is discussing the Russian offer to help in Raqqa liberation battles and will decide based on what the Coalition wants. [Qasioun]

 

Tens of thousands of civilians left Raqqa towards Manbij, Azaz, Al-Baba and Deir Ez-Zor. [Dorar]

 

The Syrian Democratic Forces says their troops, supported by Coalition warplanes, liberated so far 4 villages and 4 farms, advancing 6 km (4 miles) toward Raqqa and killing or wounding many Daesh terrorists. One of its fighters was killed in the battles. [Hawar]

 

Coalition warplanes launched heavy airstrikes on Daesh in Hisha village, south of Ain Eissa in Raqqa District, which is south of Tal Abyad and north of Raqqa, killing or wounding many terrorists. [Qasioun]

The SDF liberated Matmasraja 5 km (3 miles) south of Ain Eissa, killing 23 terrorists. [Hawar]

An SDF source says Daesh is kicking people out of their houses, emptying villages north of Raqqa. [Hawar]

 

100 displaced people arrived at the Mabrouka camp from Raqqa. The camp is 40 km (25 miles) south of Tal Abyad. [Hawar]

 

31 armed groups are participating in the north Raqqa liberation operations. [Hawar]

DaeshDaily comment. It’s hard to evaluate this. The SDF is a coalition of many groups, though most of its armed men are YPG.

Northwest (Aleppo, Idlib)

Informed sources say a vehicle bomb targeted a Turkey-backed opposition group headquarters in the border city of Azaz, killing four fighters. [Hawar]

Social media sources close to Daesh says the vehicle bomb in Azaz was driven by a Daesh terrorist. Local activists say four civilians were killed and others wounded in the explosion. [EnabBaladi]

 

The Syrian Army targeted Sheikh Maqsoud in Aleppo city with explosives barrels. Turkey-backed opposition groups also continued their shelling on the area, wounding three civilians, including a child. [Hawar] [Hawar]

A Syrian military source says Syrian warplanes destroyed Daesh vehicles and military positions in several areas east of Homs. [SANA]

A Syrian military source says Syrian troops shelled Daesh locations in east Deir Ez-Zor, destroying mortar units and killing or wounding several terrorists. [SANA]

A security source says terrorists targeted the house of a former security officer in Arish with an IED without causing human casualties. This is the second time in 3 months the house was attacked. [VetoGate]

Security sources say Egyptian forces killed 2 Ansar Bait Al-Maqdis terrorists after the terrorists launched a rocket on a security barricade in Muqata’a village, south of Sheikh Zuweid. [VetoGate]

Two policemen were killed and another wounded in clashes with terrorists in the Abu Rifa’i area near the Sheikh Zuweid police station. 10 Ansar Bait Al-Maqdis terrorists were also killed in the clashes. Northeast

A military source says Libyan MIGs launched 5 airstrikes on Daesh positions in Benghazi. Libyan special forces captured more areas from Daesh in west Benghazi. [AfriGate] [Libya24]

 

A medical source says a shell fell near a medical school in Benghazi, killing one person and wounding another. This is the third time this area gets targeted during the last few days. [Liby24]

Central coast

The National Accord Government troops cleared the Baghla area, near Bu Qarin, after heavy clashes with Daesh, according to the troops’ spokesman. He also says the troops captured 12 Daesh terrorists and are now 75 km (47 miles) from Sirte. [Libya24]

A medical source in Misrata says a displaced man, his wife, and his sister were killed and their two children were severely wounded when a Daesh land mine exploded under their vehicle near the Baghla area on their way from Sirte to Bani Waleed. [Libya24]

Daesh says a group of its suicide terrorists stabbed and killed a Hindu businessman in Gaibandha in north Bangladesh. Daesh says so far it has killed 4 Hindus in Bangladesh as retaliation for Hindus killing Muslims in India. [A3maq]
