Local activists and COR members say the draft of the Freedom of Speech and Demonstration law needs substantial changes. The drafted law faced objections from several societal and legal groups because of its vague nature. [Mada]

 

The Deputy Chairman of the PMF commission, Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis, says the PMFs are ready to participate in the liberation battles of Shirqat and Mosul, when Prime Minister Abadi issues his orders. He also says the PMFs will never accept having Ninewa Governorate become a base for “terrorism, Baathists, or Turks.” [Mada]

 

The Ministry of Displacement and Migration says the foreign donations to Iraq will be used to help the displaced people, but will not include compensation for damage to their houses. [Mada]

The JOC Spokesman says Military Intelligence captured a cell of 3 Daesh terrorists who were planning suicide attacks with explosives vests in Baghdad. He says they also captured weapons, explosives vests, and other equipment (video). [AIN]

A member of the Anbar Provincial Council says the situation of the displaced people in the camps is still terrible. He also says the financial allocations from the displacement ministry are very low, and the donor’s money has not arrived yet. He also says the Anbar Provincial Council’s management of the displacement issue has been poor, and Council members are afraid of incurring anger from displaced people if the Council decides to go back and hold its meetings in Anbar. Falluja

A member of the COR’s Security and Defense Committee says displaced people from Anbar are being forced to pay 300-400 dollar bribes in order to be allowed to enter Baghdad through Bzaibiz Bridge. [Sumaria]

The Anbar Operations Command says the IAA targeted Daesh locations in the Albu Ali Al-Jassem and Tarabsha areas, killing 8 terrorists, and destroying 24 rocket launchers, 2 buildings, and several rockets. It also says Iraqi forces destroyed a Daesh vehicle in the Tarabsha area, and found 5 IEDs and 7 C4 cans. [Etejah]

 

Hit/Haditha

The Anbar Operations Commander says Coalition warplanes bombed Daesh targets in Hay Al-Bakr, west of Hit, killing 6 terrorists and destroying 4 machine gun-mounted vehicles, a large weapons and explosives storehouse, and 3 mortar units. [Mada]

Rutba/Western Anbar

The commander of the West Anbar Tribal PMFs says military reinforcements are needed to liberate the rest of western Anbar and capture the border of Syria. He says the liberation also needs addition arms for the tribes and continuous air support to cut off Daesh supply lines. [Mada]

 

A tribal PMF commander says Daesh was parading its terrorists near Anah when Coalition warplanes bombed them, killing 17, including 7 Asians. [Mada]

Daesh says it destroyed 4 Iraqi Humvees with IEDs and killed sixteen soldiers north of Rutba. [JustPaste]

Daesh says it detonated a parked vehicle bomb on an IFP convoy on the road between Rutba and Akashat, killing four IFP officers and several soldiers. [JustPaste]

DaeshDaily comment. Daesh gave the names and the ranks of three of the officers. And why would a car be parked in the desert without being checked? This suggests an inside job.  

 

SALAHUDDIN

Shirqat

The Mayor of Shirqat says the American Military Unit accompanied the Iraqi Army 15th division, and moved from Makhmur area to support Iraqi forces in liberating Shirqat. [Baghdadia]

A Salahuddin Operations Command source says Iraqi forces stopped a Daesh attack near Al-Alam subdistrict, killing many Daesh terrorists and destroying 4 vehicles. [Maalomah]

 

Southern Salahuddin

The MoD says Iraqi forces will dig a trench around the Sayyed Mohammad Shrine in Balad District in order to prevent Daesh attacks. Daesh attacked the shrine on July 7th, killing or wounding more than 100 people. [Ghad]

Northern Diyala

A police source says Daesh released a boy it had kidnapped earlier in Jalawla after his parents paid 6,000 dollars. He says Daesh is using kidnapping in the Jalawla area to make up for its loss of other financial sources. [BasNews]

 

The Diyala Police says its Explosive Ordinance Disposal units defused 2 IEDs in Mansouriya subdistrict. [Mawazin]

Hawija

A security source says Daesh executed a 20-year-old man in Hawija, after accusing him of cooperating with Iraqi forces. [Mada]

 

A tribal leader says Daesh terrorists publicly executed a family of four people from his tribe in Hawija, after accusing them of cooperating with Iraqi forces. He says this is a ready-made Daesh accusation, used against anyone wishing to leave its territory. [BasNews]

NINEWA

Mosul

The Ninewa Operations Commander says Daesh is now at its weakest stage and will soon be defeated. He also says the reason behind the delay in the Iraqi force’s operations to liberate Mosul is that Daesh is using civilians as human shields. [PUKMedia]

 

A local source says a group of people attacked a Daesh prison in Mosul, killing its guards and freeing “tens” of prisoners. [Baghdadia]

 

A local source says unknown armed men kidnapped 3 Daesh terrorists in Mosul city. The source says the terrorists, from Arab countries, were responsible for kidnapping and killing tens of civilians in Mosul. [Maalomah]

 

Local sources say Daesh executed twenty civilians after various accusations, including opposing Daesh and provoking people against it and communicating with the Army, Peshmerga, and Coalition. [ARA]

 

A local source says Daesh has started to distribute wholesale wheat broadly in Mosul city. The source says Daesh used to have a monopoly on the wheat, keeping it in storehouses and using it as leverage to manipulate the people of Mosul by giving it only to favored people and selling it for high prices. The source also confirms that Daesh’s hisbah terrorists have nearly disappeared from Mosul streets, and people have started to openly smoke cigarettes and partake in other previously prohibited activities. The AAH Spokesman says “AAH Intelligence” has arrived on the east side of Mosul and published a photo, allegedly from Mosul. [Mawazin]

The IWMC says Coalition warplanes bombed a Daesh meeting in Qayara city, killing several terrorists, including the Daesh military commander of south Ninewa. [Baghdadia]

 

Daesh says it stopped an Iraqi Army attack on Shayala Al-Imam village southwest of Makhmur. Daesh also says it destroyed an Iraqi Army Humvee with an IED in the same area, and that its snipers killed an Iraqi Army soldier. [JustPaste]

KURDISTAN

The General Turkish Council in Erbil refuted media reports about withdrawing the Turkish troops from Bashiqa, saying the troops are there to help the Peshmerga in the fight against Daesh. [BasNews]

 

The Erbil Police says a displaced young man from Anbar committed suicide in Erbil. [Sumaria]

 

The Deputy Peshmerga Chief of Staff says 4,200 Peshmerga fighters and officers finished their training by international trainers in two compounds in Kurdistan. The Coalition has trained 1,500 Peshmerga fighters since the start of the war on Daesh. [Rudaw]

 

REPORTS FROM SYRIA

 

The leader of Nusra Front, Jolani, appears in a video announcing its split from Al-Qaeda, saying he is forming a new group called Al-Sham Conquest Front. Jolani, who showed his face publicly for the first time, thanked Al-Qaeda and its leader, stating his new group will not have a relationship with any non-Syrian side. It intends to be a Syrian organization rather than an international organization. [Rudaw]

The Al-Qaeda Deputy Chief, Ahmed Abu Al-Khair, had issued an audio message on Thursday, permitting Jolani to split. [ARA]

However, General Lloyd Austin, the CENTCOM Commander, says Nusra will remain part of Al-Qaeda, even if it changes its name. [ARA]

 

The White House spokesman also says the United States has not changed its point of view regarding Al-Nusra. He also says Washington has increasing fears of Al-Nusra’s ability to conduct attacks that might threaten the United States and Europe. [Anadolu]

 

The Coalition says it conducted 14 airstrikes on Daesh targets in Syria, nine in and around Manbij, four in Mare, and one in Albu Kamal. [InherentResolve]

 

Human Rights Watch says that since May 27, Syrian and Russian warplanes have conducted 47 airstrikes on 3 provinces in Syria using cluster bombs. [Dorar]

 

Northeast (Hasaka, Raqqa)

A special source says the number of casualties of the Qamishli terrorist attack was increased to 62 killed and 176 wounded, and 100 houses and shops were destroyed. The source says volunteers in teams are cleaning up and trying to find missing people under the rubble. [Rudaw]

The National Kurdish Council in Syria, a KDP affiliate, says the PYD confiscated 4 tons of medicine provided by the KRG for the people who were wounded in Qamishli. [ARA]

Northwest (Aleppo, Idlib)

Manbij campaign

Manbij Military Council troops stopped a massive Daesh attack in Manbij. The MMC also killed 12 Daesh terrorists and destroyed an armored vehicle in Hay Al-Kajli in Manbij. [Hawar]

After stopping the Daesh attack, Manbij Military Council troops started opening the roads in order to let out the civilians (video). [Hawar]

 

Manbij Military Council troops advanced in the southern parts of Manbij after killing 5 Daesh snipers. [Hawar]

 

Manbij Military Council troops launched an attack on MMC positions from Ghandoura and Dadat northwest of Manbij. Many Daesh were killed and the battles are still ongoing. [Hawar]

More than 30 Daesh terrorists were killed and 3 vehicles were destroyed so far. [Hawar]

 

A local activist says a local Daesh terrorist sneaked in Al-Buweir village 11 km (7 miles) west of Manbij, and beheaded many civilians, including two entire families. He says some of the residents who survived the massacre escaped to nearby villages, while the fate of the remaining residents is still unknown. [BasNews]

The YPG-backed Hawar says that more than 1,000 Daesh terrorists arrived from Turkey to Jarabulus in order to break the MMC’s siege on Manbij. Daesh terrorists committed massacres in Buweir, Mushairfa, Jamusiya, Dandaniya, and Ilani northwest of Manbij. Local sources say that half of the people of Manbij who left toward the villages were killed and the other half are missing. [Hawar]

A woman who survived the massacre says Daesh terrorists entered Buweir village in the early hours of the morning and started to kill people indiscriminately, men, women and children. She says tens of people were killed, including her husband, and many more were wounded, including her two children. [Hawar]

Daesh says its terrorists recaptured Ilani, Qutairan, Qurut, Jamusiya, Dandaniya, and Buweir villages west of Manbij. [A3maq]

A Manbij Military Council fighter meets his family 3 years after he was forced to leave Manbij. Daesh threatened to killed the man in 2012 because he adopted a child. After he left, Daesh forced his wife to divorce him after accusing him of being a murtad. [Hawar]

 

More stories are appearing about civilians who were executed by Daesh in Manbij. A 50-year-old man with five children and a Master’s degree in Islamic studies was beheaded in 2015, after refusing to accept Daesh’s interpretation of Islam. [Hawar]

Egypt

Medical sources say a man and a women were wounded when a rocket fell on their house in Rafah. [VetoGate]

 

Security sources say Egyptian Counter Terrorism troops, supported by helicopters and F-16s, attacked Ansar Bait Al-Maqdis terrorists in Rafah and Arish, killing 25 terrorists and wounding 15, and destroying 3 vehicles in addition to hideouts and motorcycles.
