ANBAR

 

  • The Chairman of the Security and Defense Committee in the Iraqi Parliament visits the displaced families in Bzaibiz crossroads and says most of the families don’t have food or fuel.

 

  • A tribal leader from Anbar says the Iraqi Air Force bombed a big Daesh convoy entering Al-Qa’im from Syria, killing 400 Daesh terrorists and destroying many of their vehicles. He also says the IAF bombed Daesh training camps in Rawa and A’na in west Anbar.

Al-Nujaba’ Movement says 300 Daesh terrorists were killed and 40 vehicles destroyed or damaged in the airstrike.

 

  • A source in the PMFs says families in Falluja were given 72-hour notice to leave the city before the upcoming attack. He also says thermal rocket launchers arrived at the outskirts of the city in preparation for the attack.

 

  • A local commander of the PMFs in Anbar says 5 Daesh terrorists, including an Afghani leader called Abu Talha, were killed in an Iraqi security forces attack on Albu Jassem village in Qarma. He also says 7 car bombs and a large weapons storehouse were destroyed during the attack.

 

  • The same local commander says Daesh fabricated the video about PMFs burning a young man alive in Qarma. He says the PMFs in Qarma are supported by local tribal fighters and such behavior couldn’t possibly happen. A Christian Commander in the PMFs also says the allegations against the PMFs are baseless and are part of Daesh media propaganda.

 

 

  • A member of Anbar GC says a regiment of 500 fighters from Anbar PMFs was deployed to Khaldiya District (23 km east of Ramadi) to support the Iraqi forces and defend the district against any Daesh attack.

 

  • The same Anbar GC member says Daesh closed the gates of Ramadi Dam and stopped the water flow to Habbaniya and Khaldiya. A police officer from Anbar says Daesh closed the gates while preparing to attack Khaldiya and Habbaniya.

Another member of the GC warns Khaldiya and Habbaniya might fall into Daesh hands and asks the Iraqi government to liberate the Dam as soon as possible. Southern cities on the Euphrates are already facing a big drought.

 

  • Security sources in Anbar say Daesh bombed Habbaniya base heavily with mortars. Sources in Anbar GC say Daesh launched a major attack on the Iraqi Army’s 8th Division east of Habbaniya but the Iraqi forces supported by local tribal fighters managed to stop the attack.

 

  • Baghdad Operations Command says 23 Daesh terrorists were killed and many of their vehicles destroyed in several operations in the Qarma and Ma’ameer areas.

 

  • The MoD says Anbar Operations Command killed 6 Daesh terrorists and injured 13, including the Daesh military commander in Ameriyat Al-Falluja.

 

  • A source in Anbar Operations Command says Iraqi forces managed to liberate 60% of Sajjariya area east of Ramadi so far.

 

  • A Shia MP says the PMFs managed to arrest the Libyan terrorist responsible for hanging the Iraqi soldier in Falluja.

 

  • A source in Anbar Operations Command says Daesh executed 16 people in Ramadi, including police officers, and prevented their families from having funerals for them.

 

  • The Chairman of Iraq Sahwa Council says Iraqi forces managed to liberate Al-Tamim near Ramadi after killing several Daesh snipers.

 

  • A source in Anbar Operations Command says Daesh terrorists attacked Iraqi forces north of Falluja with 3 suicide bombers killing 7 soldiers and injuring 5. The source also says Daesh destroyed 4 vehicles and gained weapons and rockets in the attack.

 

  • Local sources say 26 Iraqi soldiers were killed, 40 injured in Daesh ambush in Ankour area south of Ramadi. The sources also say Daesh took some of the soldiers prisoners.

 

 

  • The MoD says the Coalition bombed a big Daesh truck filled with explosives in Anbar.

 

  • Anbar Operations Commander says Iraqi forces are moving toward Ramadi from the south and west.

 

  • Daesh publishes videos of their operations in Ramadi and Falluja.

 

 

SALAHUDDIN

  • Salahuddin Governor asks the Iraqi government directorates managers in Tikrit to report to their work. He criticized the slow progress in restoring services. He says there has been an agreement to restore services and return the displaced people before the month of Ramadan but nothing has been done so far.

 

  • A security source says the bodies of 53 victims, all Turkmen, from yesterday’s detonated tank attack on the Iraqi forces near Samarra arrived at Muthanna Airport in Baghdad. The source also says the victims’ families held the security leaders accountable because of the lack of security intelligence and because they did not deliver assistance on time.

A Turkmen MP asks PM Abadi to send the Turkmen volunteers to fight in their areas. He also asks the Minister of Interior to open an investigation to see how the tank was able to get that close to the Iraqi forces.

The PMFs rearranged their positions in Thirthar after yesterday’s attack.

A security source says the suicide bomber who led the tank put a flag of one of the PMFs’ organizations on it, to avoid being stopped at checkpoints.

Iran’s ambassador in Baghdad denies the reports about 15 Iranian advisors being killed in the attack.

Daesh says 3 suicide bombers (a Somali, a Tajik and a Syrian) executed the attack.

 

 

  • Iraqi Federal Police Commander says Iraqi forces started operations to enter Baiji District center. He says dozens of Daesh terrorists were killed when Iraqi forces shelled Daesh controlled areas near Baiji. He also says Iraqi forces killed 16 Daesh terrorists and destroyed 4 cars using thermal rockets.

Iraqi MoD says the operations against Daesh in Baiji continue.

The Mayor of Baiji says IEDs are impeding the advance of the Iraqi forces towards the city center. He says Daesh terrorists are trapped there and they have only one exit–towards Shirqat. He also says the refinery is secured and there have been no fights around it for days.

A source in Salahuddin Operations Command says Iraqi forces liberated 70% of the areas north of Tikrit and will liberate Baiji District in the next two days. The Chairman of the Security Committee in Salahuddin GC says Baiji District will be liberated in the coming hours.

Field commanders in Baiji say 10 Chechen terrorists were killed when a Daesh car bomb exploded on them in Baiji city center. A security source says 5 Daesh terrorists were killed when they tried to attack the PMFs near Baiji.

 

  • A commander in the PMFs says they recently started to use modern anti-armored vehicles rockets. He says the PMFs stopped a major attack on Baiji refinery and destroyed 50 vehicles two days ago using these rockets.

 

  • Al-Nujaba’ Movement (Shia Militia) says they destroyed a boat bomb that was trying to destroy Samarra Dam. They also say they killed 12 Daesh terrorists in southwest Samarra.

 

  • A security source says Daesh terrorists evicted the residents of 250 houses in Ziwiya north of Tikrit and booby-trapped the houses.

The same source says the Coalition launched an airstrike on Daesh in the Makhoul area northeast of Tikrit killing 35 Daesh terrorists, including the military leader in the area.

  • The MoD says the Iraqi Air Force launched airstrikes on two hideouts for Daesh foreign jihadis in Salahuddin, destroying them and killing all the terrorists inside them.

 

  • A Shia MP says Iraqi Parliament rejected the Speicher Committee’s report because it didn’t come up with any new details and provided only general information.

 

BAGHDAD

  • PM Abadi says in Paris Iraqi forces have won on all fronts against Daesh and they can defeat it, but Iraq needs help from the international community. He says Daesh control of Ramadi was a setback that could happen in any battle but there are military plans to liberate Anbar governorate. He also says the Ninewa liberation has already started following appointment of the Ninewa Operations Commander.

Abadi says the PMFs are an official government entity that supports Iraqi security forces. He also says many countries promised to support Iraq in the war against Daesh but only a little of that support has arrived so far.

PM Abadi was asked about a video allegedly showing Turkish intelligence passing weapons to Daesh. He said Daesh is not a priority enemy for Turkey.

 

  • The KRG’s Office of Foreign Affairs says the KRG is upset because Baghdad didn’t invite them to the Paris Conference. A Sunni politician says Abadi doesn’t represent all Iraqis in the Conference.

 

  • A source in Baghdad Operations Command says PM Abadi issued an order to tighten security around the Green Zone in Baghdad.

 

  • A commander in the Baghdad Police says a new security plan based on three defense belts is in place to secure Baghdad. He also says Baghdad is secure and the defeats incurred by Daesh in several other areas have led them to start rumors about Baghdad.

 

  • The MoD says the Coalition launched 10 airstrikes on Daesh in Baiji, Mosul, Ramadi, Tal Afar and Qarma, killing 19 terrorists and destroying their locations.

 

  • A source in the MoI says 3 people were killed and 9 injured when a car bomb exploded near a popular restaurant on Palestine Street in east Baghdad. (Photos)

Another source in the MoI says one civilian was killed and 8 injured in an IED explosion in Abu Dsheer in south Baghdad.

A source in the Iraqi police says unknown armed men shot and killed a civilian in Dora in south Baghdad.

A security source says a car bomb exploded in the crowded area of Bab Al-Muadham in Baghdad killing and injuring many people.

A security source says 2 civilians were killed and 9 injured in an IED explosion in Nahrawan area in south east Baghdad.

A security source says 3 Iraqi policemen were injured when an IED exploded inside their cabin in Jisr Diyala area in south Baghdad.

A security source says an Iraqi policeman was found stabbed to death in his house in I’lam area in south Baghdad.

 

  • Al-Shaheed Al-Awwal Forces (Dawa Party Militia) say they arrested a Daesh “judge” in Yousfiya south of Baghdad.

 

  • A Russian official says Russia will supply Iraq with air force equipment and armored tanks. He says the value of the deal will be hundreds of millions of dollars.

 

  • Daesh publishes a video of the Iraqi suicide bomber who implemented the attacks on the two hotels in Baghdad.

 

OTHER GOVERNORATES

  • Wasit Governor says 3,000 volunteers from the governorate finished their training and will join the PMFs in Anbar.

 

  • Muqtada Al-Sadr establishes a special donations fund for Saraya Al-Salam in Najaf and donates around USD 5,000.

 

  • A member of Dhi Qar GC says radical groups are mobilizing young people in the governorate. He also says security forces are watching these groups.

DIYALA

  • Diyala Police Commander says an armed man from Baghdad was arrested while trying to plant an IED in a residential area in south Baquba.

 

  • A security source in Diyala says 5 civilians were injured when an IED exploded near a popular restaurant in Baquba center.

 

 

 

KIRKUK

  • The Kirkuk governor says he rejects the changes made by the Iraqi MoI on some security leadership positions in the governorate. He also says the central government is not releasing Kirkuk’s allocations but the governorate is doing its job and serving its citizens and the 400,000 displaced families.

 

NINEWA

  • Our sources in Mosul say Daesh has increased people’s taxes. They have started to collect taxes on houses in addition to the taxes on the shops and markets. The sources also say Daesh looted the houses that were bombed by Iraqi and Coalition airstrikes.

 

  • A local source in Mosul says Abu Lahib Al-Tunisi, one of the Daesh leaders, was killed with several other terrorists in an airstrike on Hamdaniya District south of Mosul. The source says Tunisi was responsible for many crimes against civilians including public executions.

 

  • Local sources say 70 Daesh terrorists suffered food poisoning after attending a mass wedding in Ba’aj district west of Mosul.

 

  • Daesh publishes photos of throwing two men from the roof of a building for homosexuality charges.

 

  • Iraqi Ministry of Electricity says it provides Mosul with electricity for several hours a day to protect Mosul Dam and to prevent further shortage in water supplies on the south.

 

  • A Kurdish official says 900 Daesh terrorists were killed last month in Ninewa because of the Coalition airstrikes and in the fights against the Peshmerga. He also says Daesh executed 76 women in Mosul during the same month.

 

  • Iraqi Minister of Interior met with Ninewa Operations Commander and Ninewa Police Commander to discuss the preparation to liberate Mosul

 

 

MISCELLANEOUS

 

  • One of Daesh’s shari’is (religious leaders) in Qalmoun in Syria issues a statement announcing he is leaving Daesh because of its “violations and crimes”. (Audio)

 

  • A local source in Shaddadi in south Hasaka says a Daesh weapons storehouse exploded because of an error killing 5 terrorists from Kazakhstan and injuring many others. Another source says Daesh terrorists are less 10 km away from the south eastern parts of Hasaka.

 

  • Fajr Al-Sham Movement in Syria announces war on Daesh.

 

  • Fath Halab also says it will fight Daesh in Aleppo.

 

  • A group close to Daesh in Syria says it took Al-Qaseer town from Al-Nusra.

 

  • Iranian general Qassem Sulaimani appears in Latakia in Syria and says to the Iranian TV “the world will be surprised with what we and the Syrian commanders are preparing in the coming days”.

 

  • Local activists say Daesh’s Public Relations Officer, Mohammed Ghallab Al-Shabout, was killed with his brother and two other terrorists in a Coalition airstrike on Hasaka in Syria.

 

  • Local activists say 2 Kurdish women were killed by Turkish soldiers while trying to cross the border to escape Daesh.

  • Daesh orders people who raise birds on the roofs of their houses to remove them within a week or get punished.

 

  • A Lebanese terrorist admits in court he filmed the videos of the slaughter of 2 Lebanese soldiers.
