Daesh says a group of its terrorists ambushed a PMF convoy near the Balad Station on the road between Baghdad and Samarra. It says the terrorists detonated 2 IEDs on the PMFs vehicles and clashed with the fighters, killing ten of them and wounding seven others. [ICDNJune1]

The​​ Turkish​​ Armed Forces Chief of Staff says Turkish​​ planes​​ killed 6 PKK fighters “planning to attack Turkish targets,”​​ in Avashan and Basian areas​​ in​​ north Iraq. The planes also​​ reportedly​​ destroyed a weapons cache and a machine-gun mounted truck.​​ [Anadolu]




According to​​ Hawar,​​ Turkey​​ was involved in the formation of​​ a new armed group​​ in Syria, under the name of​​ “Suqur al-Arab”​​ [The Falcons of the Arabs]. The new faction​​ announced its formation on the​​ Internet in a statement that also said that the​​ new faction’s aim is to confront SDF forces.​​ [Hawar]


The​​ SOHR says 2,311 civilians were killed in Syria during May. It says​​ 293 of them were killed by​​ Coalition​​ air raids, 112 by Russian airstrikes, 43 by government bombardment, 11 by opposition bombardment, 1 by Turkish bombardment, 11 by Turkish and Jordanian border guards, 114 by Daesh​​ execution, 85 by​​ Daesh shelling, 21 by vehicle bombs, 4 by​​ the SDF, 82 by landmines, 6 by internal fighting among the​​ opposition, and 48 in unknown circumstances.​​ [SyriaHR]


Ahmed Al-Jarba, ex-head of Syrian opposition coalition is discussing in Jordan with other Syrian factions and the Coalition, the formation of a new militant group to fight in the Syrian desert. Al-Jarba is leading the Syrian elite units fighting under the SDF in Raqqa.​​ [Arabi21]


The Coalition says it conducted 23 airstrikes on Daesh targets in Syria, in or near Tabaqa (14), Deir Ez-Zor (7), and Albu Kamal (2). [InherentResolve]


Northeast (Hasaka, Raqqa)


The​​ Iraqi PMF​​ reportedly​​ entered 10 km inside Syrian territories,​​ occupying Qasaiba and Bawardi villages southeast of Hasaka,​​ after​​ the​​ withdrawal of Daesh forces​​ from those areas. The PMF advance reportedly caused​​ 200 families to​​ flee towards Daesh-held Markada city.​​ [Dorar]



Despite​​ the SDF’s denial, Russia insists that​​ it has “genuine” information of​​ an agreement between Daesh and​​ the​​ SDF to allow Daesh combatants to exit​​ Raqqa​​ city towards the desert of Homs.​​ Russia says it already destroyed a convoy leaving Raqqa to Palmyra desert​​ killing​​ 80 Daesh combatants, destroying 36 cars, 8 fuel tankers, and 17​​ trucks mounted with machine guns. Russia says that it will destroy​​ any Daesh convoy leaving the city. [ARA]


Coalition planes​​ reportedly​​ destroyed Abu Haif gas station and Al-Rasheed school inside Raqqa as well as​​ tens of​​ the city’s​​ infrastructural elements​​ and features. The planes also dropped leaflets asking​​ Raqqa’s​​ residents to leave the city as the attack on it is drawing near. SDF forces are very close to the northeastern entrance of the city. [EnabBaladi]

West of Raqqa

Daesh attacked SDF positions east of Tabqa from areas west of Hurriya​​ (Baath)​​ Dam and engaged in fierce battles​​ that are still​​ ongoing.​​ The​​ SDF killed 19 Daesh combatants so far and captured two tanks and armored vehicles,​​ Hawar​​ reports.​​ [Hawar]


The​​ SDF says it killed 3 Daesh combatants in defending against a Daesh counter-attack on​​ SDF forces​​ in​​ the outskirts of Mansoura. The battles near Mansoura and Hurriya Dam are still continuing.​​ [Hawar]

East of Raqqa

The US reportedly air-dropped a group of special forces​​ troops​​ in Shanina east of Raqqa that killed several Daesh combatants before withdrawing to SDF areas. Daesh sent reinforcements which arrived the area after the withdrawal of the Americans.​​ [Qasioun]

Government forces captured Al-Far village south of Maskana and destroyed Daesh defensive lines protecting south of the city.​​ Syrian troops​​ also cut off Daesh supply lines between Maskana and Raqqa under intense cover from Russian planes. Kurdish sources say​​ the​​ Turkish​​ Army​​ mobilized more armored and construction equipment near Shankila border village in Afrin. The sources say the​​ population will organize a sit-in in front of the Turkish equipment to prevent them​​ from​​ constructing the border wall.​​ [Hawar]

The Syrian government claims​​ its troops advanced​​ against Daesh fighters​​ in east Homs desert,​​ killing​​ tens of​​ combatants and destroying several vehicles and rocket launchers, among other equipment. [SyriaNow]
