REPORTS FROM IRAQ

       

ANBAR

Falluja

The PMF Media says the PMFs stopped a Daesh attack with 7 car bombs north of Falluja. They also claim to have killed 60 Daesh terrorists in a surprise attack near the Euphrates River north of Falluja. [Buratha]

A source in the Iraqi 1st Rapid Intervention Division says the Division stopped a Daesh attack on the Iraqi forces south of Falluja, killing 2 terrorists and destroying a motorcycle. [Al-Sumaria]

MoD says Iraqi forces captured a Daesh explosives cache in Qarma. [Al-Baghdadia]

Baghdad Operations Command killed a Daesh terrorist and destroyed 2 vehicles and 10 IEDs in Qarma. [IWMC Report]

The Iraq War Media Cell (IWMC) says Iraqi forces killed 5 Daesh terrorists and destroyed a vehicle and a rocket launcher in Ameriyat Al-Falluja. [Al-Ghad]

Ramadi

The Chairman of the security committee in Khaldiya says the IAA bombed a Daesh gathering in Jazeera Al-Khaldiya, killing the Daesh military commander for the area and 30 other terrorists. [Al-Baghdadia]

A source in Anbar Police says the Coalition bombed Daesh supply lines west of Ramadi, killing dozens of Daesh terrorists and destroying their weapons and vehicles. The source also says Iraqi forces are in full control of the areas west of Ramadi and are preparing to liberate more areas. [Al-Maalomah] The Anbar Police commander says Iraqi forces destroyed Daesh defense lines in Ramadi and that there will be huge military developments in the coming days. [Al-Mada]

A source in Anbar Operations Command says Iraqi forces launched a large military operation in Albu Aitha, 12 km (7.5 miles) north of Ramadi, killing Daesh’s car bomb official in Ramadi and 4 of his associates, and destroying 3 car bombs, a rocket launcher and a truck loaded with weapons and IEDs. [Al-Mada]

Iraqi forces, supported by the IAA, stopped 2 Daesh attacks on Albu Aitha, killing 8 terrorists.  [IWMC Report]

The commander of the local PMFs in Anbar says the Ramadi Second Battalion, 650 local fighters, was deployed to Albu Aitha Bridge 2 days ago and will participate in the Ramadi liberation battles. [Buratha]

 

Daesh says a Syrian terrorist attacked Iraqi forces near Albu Aitha Bridge with a car bomb, killing and injuring many of them and stopping the attack on the area. [Dump]

The IFP commander says his troops killed 2 Daesh terrorists and injured others as they tried to sneak into the Iraqi forces’ defense lines in Tal Mshaihda. [Al-Ghad] He also says an IFP force destroyed a Daesh hideout in Hsaiba and killed 3 snipers. [Al-Ghad]

Iraqi forces killed 9 Daesh terrorists and destroyed 3 hideouts and 2 vehicles in Hsaiba and Al-Madhiq east of Ramadi. [IWMC Report]

 

A security source says the IFP killed 5 Daesh fighters and injured 4 others and confiscated their vehicle and weapons, after they tried to booby-trap houses near a school in Al-Madhiq east of Ramadi. [Al-Ghad]

 

Elsewhere in Anbar

A security source says the Coalition bombed a Daesh car bomb factory and 3 other locations in Al-Qa’im in far western Anbar. [Al-Baghdadia]

SALAHUDDIN

Baiji

A source in the Iraqi Joint Operations Command says Iraqi forces stopped a Daesh car bomb attack in Tal Abu Jarad in Baiji, killing 15 Daesh fighters and forcing the rest to retreat. [Al-Maalomah] A video of the battles in Tal Abu Jarad. [YouTube]

Another JOC source says large Iraqi military enforcements arrived in Baiji to complete the liberation of the area and support a move toward Shirqat to the northwest, Daesh’s last stronghold in Salahuddin. He also reported intelligence information that Daesh leader Awwad Baghdadi has issued orders for his fighters to withdraw from Baiji. [Al-Maalomah]

 

Salahuddin Operations Command stopped a Daesh attack and destroyed 7 car bombs, and secured the road to Baiji refinery. The IAA destroyed 3 more car bombs and killed the terrorists inside them. [IWMC Report] A security source says the IAA destroyed a total of 10 Daesh car bombs in Baiji and nearby Siniya. [Al-Baghdadia]

A PUK official says the Coalition bombed a Daesh hideout in Baiji, killing 4 Daesh leaders (2 Tajiks, an Iraqi and an American). He says these were the terrorists who led the Daesh attacks in Baiji and their deaths will break the backbone of Daesh in Baiji. [PUKMedia] Daesh had announced late yesterday that the American (called Abu Abdullah) was one of 4 suicide bombers who attacked Iraqi forces in Baiji with car bombs (photos). [Just Paste]

The commander of the Iraqi Rapid Intervention Division says Iraqi forces killed 150 Daesh terrorists and destroyed 40 car bombs and cleared all the areas captured by Daesh in the western and southwestern areas of Baiji. [Xendan]

Samarra

A security source says 30 Iraqi soldiers and PMFs were killed or injured when a suicide bomber detonated an oil tanker bomb near the Strategic Line west of Samarra. [Al-Baghdadia]

 

Iraqi forces, supported by the IAA, continued their operations to clear Jazeera Samarra and broke through Daesh’s first defense line to capture another village in the area, killing 3 terrorists and destroying 18 IEDs and 7 vehicles. [IWMC Report]

A source in Samarra Operations Command says Iraqi forces liberated 3 villages in Jazeera Samarra, killing 30 Daesh terrorists and destroying 2 vehicles, a construction shovel and a fuel tanker. He also says 2 Iraqi soldiers were killed and 4 injured in the battles. [Buratha]

IWMC says Iraqi forces and the IAA destroyed 6 car bombs and a motorcycle bomb and captured 2 car bombs in Jazeera Samarra. [Al-Ghad]

Samarra Operations Command says its troops killed Daesh’s military leader in Jazeera Samarra. [Al-Baghdadia]

 

BAGHDAD

PM Abadi’s office says the PM issued orders to reduce the numbers of the security personnel for Iraqi officials by 90%, which will make 20,000 security men available for other duty. [Al-Maalomah]

The spokesman of the Supreme Judicial Council says 29 Iraqi officials, including former ministers, were indicted on corruption charges. [Iraq Press]

Former PM Nouri Al-Maliki returns to Baghdad from Tehran. Many sources thought he escaped Iraq because of the Mosul report. [Iraq Press]

According to security sources:

–        An employee of the Ministry of Electricity was killed when a sticker IED exploded under his car in Rashdiya in north Baghdad. [Al-Maalomah]

–        A civilian was killed and 5 injured in an IED explosion in Al-Mashtal in east Baghdad. [Al-Gharbiya]

–        A policeman was killed and 3 injured when a roadside bomb exploded on their patrol in Hay Al-Wihda in south Baghdad. [Al-Baghdadia]

–        An IED exploded near the industrial area in Basmaya in south Baghdad, killing 3 civilians and injuring 5. [Al-Baghdadia]

–        An IED exploded in a popular market in Abu Ghraib in west Baghdad, killing a civilian and injuring 9. [Buratha]

–        A security source says 2 Iraqi soldiers were injured in another IED explosion in Abu Ghraib. [Al-Sumaria]

 

The IAF conducted 16 sorties and the IAA 65 (results reflected in other stories herein).

The Coalition conducted 15 sorties, killing 24 terrorists and destroying 7 vehicles, including 2 car bombs, and 9 locations in addition to a car bomb factory, a storehouse and 3 tunnels. [IWMC Report]

 

DIYALA

A security source says 2 civilians were killed and 2 injured when a roadside bomb exploded in Al-Khalis. [Al-Maalomah]

 

The Mayor of Sadiya, 80 km (50 miles) northeast of Baquba, says 150 more displaced families returned to their houses in the subdistrict. [Al-Mada]

 

A security source says 2 civilians were killed and 2 injured in an IED explosion in Abbara north of Baquba. [Al-Gharbiya]

 

A security source says the bodies of 2 men kidnapped 3 months ago were found in Muqdadiya. [Al-Baghdadia]

 

KIRKUK

A security source says security forces arrested a traffic police officer who used to facilitate Daesh movement inside the city by providing them with forged licenses and official documents. [Al-Baghdadia]

IWMC says the IAF killed 19 Daesh terrorists in an airstrike on a Daesh convoy north of Tuz. [Al-Ghad]

A Peshmerga source says the Coalition bombed Daesh in Daquq, killing many terrorists including a local leader. [Xendan]

Daesh claimed responsibility for the IED in Kirkuk. [Just Paste]

Daesh publishes photos of killing and crucifying 6 PMFs in Kirkuk. [Just Paste]

DaeshDaily comment. These men were in civilian clothes, most likely Sunni civilians from Hawija who wanted to leave Daesh-controlled areas.

 

A security source in Kirkuk says a Daesh terrorist captured recently admitted that he and other young men from Tuz went to Al-Alam in Salahuddin and stopped a truck full of Iraqi soldiers and executed them as part of the Speicher massacre. [Al-Ghad]

A police commander in Kirkuk says a Peshmerga soldier was killed in an IED explosion in the Al-Basheer village in Taza. [Rudaw]

NINEWA

IWMC says the IAF bombed a Daesh convoy in Tal Afar, killing 10 terrorists and destroying 2 vehicles loaded with weapons. [Al-Ghad]

 

A PUK official says the Coalition bombed 2 Daesh vehicles in Makhmur, killing 4 local Daesh notables. [PUKMedia] He also says Daesh publicly executed a member of the Hamdaniya District Council in Mosul. [PUKMedia]

 

Kata’eb Al-Mosul says they detonated an IED on a Daesh vehicle near Tal Afar, killing a Sudanese Daesh sharia judge and his associate. [The KM Facebook page]

REPORTS FROM SYRIA

 

A Kurdish source says the YPG forces continued their advances in the southern areas of Hasaka countryside and surrounded Daesh in the town of Al-Hawl after heavy clashes. The source says the Coalition’s jets and Apache helicopters participated in the battles. [BasNews]

Libya. Daesh says it captured more posts in the East Coast area of Derna. [Just Paste]

Local sources say Daesh released 4 young men from the Gaddafi tribe in Sirte after capturing them in Sector 3. The sources say Daesh controls the Sector and is seizing housing belong to the citizens and writing “Islamic State Property” on them. [Al-Wasat]
