ANBAR

The Anbar Governor denies the reports about making an agreement with the Americans to bring Apache helicopters and artillery to Anbar without getting approvals from Baghdad. He says the role of the Americans in Anbar is advisory and security agreements are handled by the Iraqi government. [Mada]

A security source says 3 Daesh members were killed when an IED they were transporting exploded in Saqlawiya north of Falluja. [Maalomah]

The IWMC says the Iraqi 1st Rapid Intervention Division destroyed a Daesh vehicle bomb in Subaihat in Qarma. [Iraqi Media Network]

Ramadi

A security source says the IAA destroyed 2 Daesh guesthouses in Albu Shijil north of Ramadi, killing 30 and wounding 14. [Iraqi Media Network]

 

Anbar Operations Command shelled Daesh with artillery and rockets in Jaraishi and Albu Aitha, killing 8. The IAA also attacked Daesh locations in Albu Aitha. [IWMC Report]

Daesh says it stopped an Iraqi forces attack on Jaraishi, killing “dozens” of soldiers. Daesh also says it detonated 2 booby-trapped houses on Iraqi soldiers in the area. [Dump]

 

Iraqi forces defused 40 IEDs and seized 2 rocket launchers north of Ramadi. [IWMC Report]

 

The IAA destroyed 3 Daesh oil tankers in Juwaiba, 16 km (10 miles) northeast of Ramadi. [IWMC Report]

A source in Anbar Operations Command says Iraqi forces killed 5 Daesh fighters attacking Jazeera Khaldiya east of Ramadi. [Maalomah]

 

IWMC says the Coalition killed 7 Daesh fighters and destroyed a boat in Hamdhiya east of Ramadi. [Iraqi Media Network]

 

Hit/Haditha

Jazeera Operations Command says the Coalition bombed Daesh in Albu Hayat, 10 km south of Haditha, killing 24 and destroying 4 vehicles. [Baghdadia]

 

A security source says the Coalition bombed the house of a Daesh leader called Abu Talha in Kubaisa, killing him and his family. [Baghdadia]

 

Western Anbar

Al-Suqoor Intelligence Cell says it coordinated 3 airstrikes on Daesh meetings in Hit and western Anbar on September 18 and September 20, killing or wounding 44 Daesh members. The Cell says several Daesh leaders were killed in the airstrikes, including an Australian called Abu Islam and a local terrorist responsible for the car bombs in Baghdad. [Mada]

 

A security source says the Coalition, in coordination with the intelligence service of Jazeera Operations Command, bombed Daesh in the Kilo 160 area in west Anbar, killing 13 and destroying 4 vehicles. [Baghdadia]

DaeshDaily comment. “Kilo 160” means that the area is 160 miles from Ramadi.

 

SALAHUDDIN

Baiji

Daesh says it captured 2 Iraqi Army barracks north of Tikrit and took weapons and ammunition. (No mention of whether there were soldiers in the barracks.) Daesh also shelled Iraqi forces west and east of Baiji with mortars and rockets in addition to launching a Grad rocket on Speicher base. [Dump]

DaeshDaily comment: Daesh didn’t mention anything about its failed attack on Baiji yesterday but we saw some Daesh Twitter accounts mourning several terrorists in Baiji.

 

The IFP killed 11 terrorists and destroyed 3 vehicles in Tal Abu Jarad. The IFP also killed 4 terrorists in Hay Al-Tameem in Baiji. [IWMC Report]

 

A security source says the IAA targeted a Daesh gathering in Al-Msahaq village north of Baiji, killing 5. The IAA also destroyed a Daesh armored vehicle on the road between Baiji and Shirqat. [Maalomah]

Shirqat

A security source says the IAA destroyed 2 Daesh vehicles and killed 4 men near Zuwiya south of Shirqat. [Maalomah]

 

Samarra
A security source says Iraqi forces raided a Daesh house in Jazeera Samarra and seized 14 IEDs and several military vehicles. Iraqi forces found another hideout and seized 22 IEDs and 3 vehicles. [Maalomah]

 

A PMF source says the PMFs destroyed a Daesh vehicle and killed the terrorists inside it in Jazeera Samarra. [Buratha]

A security source says Iraqi forces stopped a large Daesh attack in Yethrib subdistrict, killing 10 terrorists and destroying 2 vehicles carrying machine guns. The source says Daesh tried to capture an area in Yethrib in order to shell Balad Airbase with Katyushas and disturb the operations of the F-16s. [Etejah] Another source says Iraqi forces destroyed 3 Daesh boats trying to sneak into Yethrib. [Baghdadia]

 

A security source says an Iraqi Daesh member beheaded his Arab commander for making sexual advances on his wife. [Sumaria]

 

Unknown armed men shot 2 civilians in Tuz Khurmatu, killing one of them and injuring the other. [Gharbiya]

A security source says the Katyusha attack in Baghdad on Monday evening was conducted by Al-Mukhtar Army. Iraqi forces raided the house of the leader of this militia in Maysan on Monday morning. [Mada]

 

A security source says Iraqi forces captured Daesh’s wali of north Baghdad in Khan Bani Saad in Diyala. [Maalomah]

  • Unknown armed men kidnapped a civil society activist from a restaurant in Waziriya in central Baghdad, along with the restaurant owner. [Baghdadia]
  • An IED exploded near Al-Taji Military Camp in north Baghdad, targeting an Iraqi Army patrol, killing 2 soldiers and wounding 5. [Maalomah]
  • A civilian was killed when unknown armed men shot him on Palestine Street in east Baghdad. [Mada]
  • An IED exploded in Niariya in east Baghdad, killing a civilian and injuring 3. [Baghdadia]
  • A civilian was killed and 5 wounded in an IED explosion near a popular restaurant in Jisr Diyala in southeast Baghdad. [Mada]
  • Two civilians were killed and 7 wounded when an IED exploded near a popular restaurant in Zafaraniya in southeast Baghdad. [Mada]
  • A Mukhtar was killed when a sticker IED exploded under his car in Nahrawan in southeast Baghdad. [8th Day]
  • Security forces found two suicide belts in the house of a policeman in Dora in south Baghdad. The policeman was not in the house but his wife was arrested. [Sumaria]
  • Two civilians were killed and 9 wounded in an IED explosion near a wholesale market in Ameriya in west Baghdad. [Mada]

 

Baghdad Operations Command captured 2 men wanted on terrorism charges in Hay Al-Adel in west Baghdad. [IWMC Report]

 

Overall, the IAF conducted 3 sorties and the IAA 30.

The Coalition conducted 21 sorties killing “dozens” of terrorists and destroying 8 rocket launchers, 19 locations and 3 vehicles. [IWMC Report]

 

DIYALA

Abu Saida/Muqdadiya

The Governor of Diyala forms a committee to intervene in the tribal conflict in Abu Saida. Several people have been killed or wounded in incidents between a Sunni tribe and a Shia tribe in the subdistrict. [Sumaria]

 

A security source says 2 Iraqi soldiers were killed and 5 injured when a roadside IED exploded east of Abu Saida. [Baghdadia]

 

A security source says an IED exploded near Muqdadiya Old Market, killing a civilian and injuring 6. [Baghdadia]

 

Baquba

The Chairman of the security committee in Diyala GC says 4 brothers were arrested in Baquba, linked to the recent assassinations in the city. [Sumaria]

 

Unknown armed men shot at a civilian car 27 km (17 miles) northwest of Baquba, killing a child and wounding his parents. [Sumaria]

 

A security source says unknown armed men shot and killed a man and his wife in their car in Khan Bani Saad, southwest of Baquba. [Maalomah]

 

Balad Ruz

The Dijla Operations commander says his troops destroyed a car bomb and killed the suicide bomber attacking a checkpoint in Balad Ruz. [Sumaria]

 

A security source says an explosives expert was killed and another wounded while trying to defuse a car bomb in the center of Balad Ruz. [Sumaria]

 

A security source says Iraqi forces captured a suicide bomber before he detonated himself in a popular market in Balad Ruz. [Etejah]

 

Six civilians were wounded in an IED explosion near the main checkpoint in Balad Ruz. [Etejah]

 

KIRKUK

A security source in Kirkuk says Daesh deployed Ashbal Al-Khilafa, young boys trained by Daesh, to the frontlines near the Peshmerga forces, because most of its fighters were deployed to Baiji. [Sumaria]

 

An Arab MP from Kirkuk says representatives of Arab tribes from Kirkuk will meet with PM Abadi after Eid to discuss the participation of 700 tribal fighters in the battles against Daesh in Hawija. [BasNews]

 

A Peshmerga source says the Kurdish forces liberated another village near Daquq, killing 7 Daesh terrorists. [BasNews]

 

NINEWA

A security source says the IAF killed the Daesh terrorist Abu Bakr Al-Turkmani, responsible for selling Yazidi girls into slavery, in an airstrike on his house in Tal Afar. [Iraqi Media Network] Later in the day, however, the Pentagon reported that a Coalition airstrike had killed him.

 

A security source says Daesh executed 5 police officers in Qayara, who were accused of coordinating with the Ninewa Operations Command. [Mada]

 

A security source says intelligence sources intercepted Daesh communications indicating that Daesh may withdraw from Qayara and Hammam Al-Alil to Mosul, after the heavy bombing on their locations.

The source also says the Coalition bombed Daesh in Tel Keif, killing 12 and wounding 15 and destroying 2 vehicles; and in Badoush, 20 km (12.5 miles) west of Mosul, destroying 4 SUVs and killing the men inside. Daesh’s wali of the rural Baaj District was killed in a Coalition airstrike. The Coalition also bombed Daesh in Ashiq village in Tal Afar, killing many Daesh members. [Ghad]

 

The Peshmerga Chief of Staff refutes the reports about the arrival of American troops near Mosul. He says the Kurds will liberate Sinjar, Bartella, Alqosh and Bashiqa before the Iraqi forces are able to enter Mosul. He says the time of the attack on Mosul has not been determined yet and the Kurds haven’t decided whether to participate or not. [Rudaw]

 

A member of Ninewa GC says the Iraqi government is not serious about liberating Mosul especially when it moved the local police from Ninewa to Speicher base. A Kurdish member of the security and defense committee in the Iraqi CoR says the operations to liberate Mosul are supposed to start in 45 days. [Rudaw]

 

A security source says Daesh executed 3 officers from the Iraqi Army’s 2nd Division after arresting them in their houses south of Mosul. The 3 had previously “repented” to Daesh. [Maalomah]

 

A local source says Daesh executed another local journalist in Mosul, after accusing him of communicating with foreign media. [BasNews]

Kurdistan

According to a pro-Daesh source, Daesh says it killed the commander of German trainers of Kurdish soldiers in Iraq, as revenge for Mohammed Al-Kurdi, the terrorist killed by German police two weeks ago. [Independence] The Commander was found dead in his hotel in Erbil.

Southern Iraq

Basra police says they arrested another man from Anbar wanted on terrorism charges. [Sumaria]

A Kurdish field source says the YPG attacked Daesh in several villages and locations south of Tal Brak and forced them to retreat to Al-Hawl and Al-Shaddadi. [BasNews]

 

Daesh says it beheaded 2 “spies” working for the Turkish government in Al-Rai’ town near the Turkish borders in Aleppo Governorate. [Just Paste]

 

A field commander of Jabha Shamiya says Daesh shelled Mare’, injuring 2 people. He also says the explosives officer at the JS was killed while booby-trapping a house close to Daesh controlled areas. The JS shot down a Daesh drone near Mare’. [ARA]

 

Jaish Al-Muhajireen Wal-Ansar, a militia of foreign and local fighters in Aleppo, pledged allegiance to Al-Nusra. [Hawar]

 

The Syrian Army bombed several areas in Tadmur, killing 20 Daesh terrorists and 12 civilians. [Hawar]
Daesh says it cut off the road between Homs and Tadmur and destroyed 3 Syrian army vehicles and killed many soldiers. [Dump]

 

Daesh claimed responsibility for the car bomb in Hay Al-Zahra in Homs yesterday and says a suicide bomber detonated his vehicle, killing and wounding dozens of Alawites. [Dump]
