Iraqi Counter Terrorism Service troops coming east from Hamdaniya are 900 meters (0.56 miles) from the entrance to Mosul city, the force’s commander Lt. Gen. Talib Shaghati announced. [Forat] The CTS announced that it has isolated Mosul’s eastern hinterland in the Nineveh Plains from the city, and that it expects to capture the Kokjali area close to the city within “a few hours.” Operations are unfolding in coordination with IAA and IAF air power, Shaghati said. The MIS also told DaeshDaily that media reports that Iraqi troops have entered the Al-Karama neighborhood in eastern Mosul city are untrue.
