ANBAR

  • The Spokesman of UNHCR in Geneva says 85,000 Iraqis left their houses in Ramadi since June 16 and more are leaving every day.

The displaced families from Anbar say they were abandoned by the Iraqi government. (Video)

 

  • PM Abadi says a high committee was formed to investigate the fall of Ramadi. He says the investigation will show who gave the orders to the Iraqi forces to withdraw. He also says the withdrawal from Ramadi was different than Mosul because Iraqi forces in Ramadi took all their weapons and vehicles before withdrawing, except for the damaged ones and they were destroyed later by airstrikes.

 

  • Baghdad Operations Command says Iraqi Joint Forces launched a major attack on Daesh in Qarma killing 45 terrorists and destroying 7 vehicles and 6 hideouts in addition to disassembling 155 IED.

The MoD says the Coalition launched an airstrike on Daesh in Qarma killing many terrorists.

The MoD also says Iraqi Military Intelligence launched rockets on Daesh in Qarma killing 18 terrorists including a leader from Mosul.

 

  • Kata’eb Hezbollah say they will handle the 260 Daesh members they arrested in Anbar to the Iraqi security forces. They say they were able to arrest them based on information from special sources in Anbar.

 

  • Al-Suqour Intelligence Cell in the Iraqi MoI says it implemented a qualitative operation in Al-Qa’im in west Anbar killing 20 Daesh terrorists including a British terrorist, Abu Hammam Al-Britani, who was responsible for recruiting suicide bombers. The cell called the operation “Mustafa” after the Iraqi soldier who executed in Falluja.

 

  • The MoD says Iraqi Army’s 8th Division supported by Iraqi Army Aviation implemented an operation against Daesh in Albu Shahab area in Ramadi killing 16 terrorists and injuring 9 in addition to destroying 6 of their vehicles.

 

  • Baghdad Operations Command says Iraqi forces managed to retake the area between Thirthar and Shiha after Daesh controlled it two days ago.

 

  • Anbar Operations Commander says the ongoing battles to liberate Ramadi “broke Daesh back” and cost them a lot of casualties.

 

  • Al-Jazeera Operations Commander says huge military reinforcements arrived to Ain Al-Asad base and Baghdadi town.

 

  • The Sheikh of Albu Fahad tribe in Anbar asks the people of Anbar to join the PMFs in order to hold the ground after defeating Daesh.

 

  • The speaker of Daesh in his first Friday speech in Ramadi mosque says the next step is to march towards Baghdad.

 

SALAHUDDIN

 

  • The Mayor of Tikrit says the return of the displaced families might happen in the month of Ramadhan if the security situation improves. He also says some Daesh terrorists are still hiding in the city but the police finds them from time to time and kills them.

 

  • The 17th Brigade of the PMFs (Saraya Al-Jihad) says they arrested 90 Daesh members in Salahuddin. The SJ also says they are moving ahead after liberating the Strategic Line and other areas on the roads to Anbar and Baghdad.

 

  • The MoD says the 17th Iraqi Infantry Brigade supported by PMFs implemented an operation in Sayyed Ghareeb area killing 10 Daesh terrorists. The MoD says 23 other terrorists were killed by the same Brigade around the Strategic Line.

 

  • The PMFs say they killed a Daesh sniper and destroyed a weapons storehouse, a C4 explosives factory and five booby-trapped houses in Baiji.

 

  • A source in Salahuddin Operations Command says Iraqi forces advanced to Siniyya town west of Baiji and are surrounding the town from 3 sides.

Another source in SOC says Iraqi forces killed one of Daesh leaders, Abu Maryam Al-Jaza’eri, near Siniyya.

 

  • The MoD says Iraqi Air Force launched airstrikes on Daesh vehicles in Al-Jazeera area west of Samarra killing 12 Daesh terrorists.

 

  • Iraqi Federal Police Commander says the Federal Police Commandos supported by PMFs launched a surprise attack on Daesh in Al-Fatha area killing 12 Daesh terrorists while they were trying to attack the Iraqi forces there.

He also says the police killed 3 Daesh terrorists and disassembled 65 IEDs in Nibai’ and east Tikrit.

The MoD says the Coalition launched an airstrike on a Daesh car bomb in Al-Fatha area north of Tikrit.

A commander in Badr Militia says they managed to stop a Daesh attack on Al-Fatha.

Badr also says they are surrounding Daesh in 40 km areas in Salahuddin with support from Iraqi Army Aviation.

Another Badr commander says his troops managed to liberate Tal Al-Bayadh area west of Samarra killing 3 Daesh terrorists and arresting 2.

 

  • Al-Nujaba’ Militia says they killed 9 Daesh terrorists and destroyed their vehicle on the road between Baiji and Tikrit.

 

  • The General Secretary of Asa’eb Ahl Al-Haq says announces the liberation of all Dujail areas.

 

  • Daesh publishes photos of its “quality control” in Shirqat.

 

BAGHDAD

 

  • Iraqi High Commission for Human Rights says 8,047 Iraqis were killed and 14,487 injured because of terrorist activities since the beginning of 2015.

 

  • The MoI says 9 people were killed and 31 injured when two car bombs exploded in the parking lots of the Sheraton and Babel hotel in Baghdad yesterday.

Daesh claims responsibility for the attacks on two hotels in Baghdad yesterday. It says a terrorist called Abu Qatada parked a car bomb outside the Sheraton then drove another car filled with 300 KGMs of explosives to Babel hotel.

Al-Sumariya TV publishes a video of the car bomb entering the parking lot of Babel hotel. It also published photos and videos of the damages in the two hotels.

A Sunni MP says “it wouldn’t be strange” if one of the Iraqi officials’ convoys let the car bomb in Babel hotel yesterday. He says Iraqi officials can let car bombs inside any place they want.

A member of the Security Committee in Baghdad GC says the hotel attacks are linked to the dismissal of Ninewa and Diyala governors.

 

  • A source in the MoI says one civilian was killed and 7 injured in an IED explosion in a trade area in Al-Furat neighborhood in south west Baghdad.

Another source in the MoI says 2 men were killed and another was injured when an IED exploded in Tuaitha area in south east Baghdad.

A security source says one civilian was killed and 6 injured in an IED explosion in Mashtal area in east Baghdad.

Another source says a woman body was found beaten to death in Al-Ma’amel area in east Baghdad.

A security source says 2 bodies of Sahwa fighters were found shot in Arab Jubour area in south Baghdad.

 

  • Local sources say Mahmoudiya hospital south of Baghdad received the bodies of 8 soldiers and 13 PMFs fighters from the fights in Anbar.

 

  • The Spokesman of the MoI says Al-Suqour Intelligence Cell arrested a dangerous terrorist group in Al-Mansour area in west Baghdad. He says the group admitted committing several terrorist attacks. He also says the Cell confiscated materials used in terrorist activities from the group’s hideout.

 

 

OTHER PROVINCES

 

  • Sistani’s rep in Kerbala accuses regional and international fronts of supporting Daesh and warns the region will face a bloody sectarian conflict.

 

DIYALA

  • Deputy Governor of Diyala asks the Iraqi government and the KRG to allow the displaced families to return to their homes in Jalawla’ and says the town is a safe area now.

 

  • Diyala Police says it established a special unit to fight the rumors spread by the terrorists’ supporters.

 

KIRKUK

 

  • A security source in Kirkuk says 5 men were arrested for terrorism related charges in south Kirkuk.

 

NINEWA

 

  • Ninewa Operations Commander says military preparations to liberate Mosul have completed and Iraqi forces are waiting an order to start the operations from the Iraqi Commander in Chief, PM Abadi.

 

  • The MoD says the Coalition launched 4 airstrikes on Daesh in Tal Afar killing 4 terrorists, and 4 other airstrikes in Baiji in Salahuddin killing 3 more.

 

  • The discussions about the dismissal of Ninewa governor continues. 12 members of Ninewa GC sent a request earlier to the Iraqi Parliament accusing him of incompetence and of having relationships with the JTRN, a Sunni armed group linked to the Baath part. After that 55 Shia MPs requested a vote to dismiss the governor which led to his dismissal. Some Sunni MPs, including the Speaker of the Parliament, say they were surprised by the vote and by PM Abadi’s position in this regard.

The commander of Badr militia says Nujaifi should be sued for his role in the fall of Mosul. He also says the PMFs don’t need permission from anyone to enter Iraqi cities.

Another debate is going on regarding changing the governor of Diyala, a Sunni, with a member of Badr Organization. Sunni MPs also say they were surprised by that decision and say it was against all the political agreements between Iraqi political blocs.

 

  • Daesh publishes a video of their rocket attacks in Mosul.

 

 

MISCELLANEOUS

 

  • Saudi ministry of interior says 4 people were killed when a suicide bomber disguised in women clothes detonated himself near a Shia mosque in Dammam. The terrorist was trying to enter the mosque but a young man prevented him. The terrorist then detonated himself in the parking lot killing the young man and two other people.

Daesh claims responsibility of the attack and says a Saudi terrorist bombed himself near the mosque. (Audio)

Daesh says all Shia should leave the Arab Peninsula.

 

 

  • A speaker of Burkan Al-Furat Operations in Syria says his forces are coordinating with the YPG to take over Tal Abyadh town between Jazeera and Kobani.

The YPG is preparing to attack Daesh in Raqqa after taking over Mabrouka town.

 

  • Kurdish forces say they managed to free civilian hostages from Daesh in two villages in west Sari Kanya. The civilians were trying to reach the Turkish borders when they were taken by Daesh terrorists.

 

  • The spokesman of the 166th Battalion militia says Daesh controlled military airbase in Sirte after his forces withdrew because they didn’t get the reinforcements they requested from Tripoli.

Daesh announces it took over Al-Qardhabiya airbase in Sirte and the Industrial River Project.

 

 

  • Daesh publishes videos and photos of the Tajik special forces commander who joined them recently.

 

  • Daesh publishes statistics about their operations in Rajab (last) month.
