The Chairman of the Security Committee in Baghdad Provincial Council confirmed the capture of the terrorist and said he is from Diyala. The captured terrorist reportedly gave information about the Daesh members involved in Tuesday’s attack on Sadr City. [Ghad]

Falluja

A tribal PMF commander says 4,000 PMF fighters have arrived in the Falluja area. [Maalomah]

The Al Abbas Combat Division says it sent its rocket battalion to Qarma to participate in Falluja’s liberation operations. [Harbi]

Saraya Al-Jihad also says it deployed troops near Falluja. [Harbi]

Ansar Al-Marji’ya, another Shia PMF faction, also says it finished its preparations to participate in Falluja’s liberation. [Sumaria]

DaeshDaily comment. With every terrorist attack in Baghdad the hatred grows against Falluja. Many Iraqis accuse the city of being the source of Daesh suicide terrorists. Unlike the recent past, there doesn’t seem to be much objection to Shia PMFs participating in liberating Falluja.  

 

South of Falluja. A member of the Ameriyat Al-Falluja subdistrict council says security forces arrested 30 people suspected of working with Daesh to break into the residential compound. That attack was the first security breach in the compound in 2 years. [Maalomah]

 

An Anbar Operations Command source says Coalition warplanes destroyed a Daesh hideout near the Yatama area, south of Falluja, killing 5 terrorists. The source also says Coalition warplanes destroyed a Daesh mortar unit near Al-Salam intersection, killing several terrorists. [Harbi]

The Anbar Operations Commander says Iraqi forces launched an attack on Daesh in Jazeera Khaldiya, killing 6 terrorists and destroying 2 machine gun-mounted vehicles. He also says security forces destroyed a Daesh vehicle filled with IEDs and rockets. [BasNews]

 

The Anbar Operations Command says Coalition warplanes destroyed a Daesh mortar unit in Khaldiya, killing 2 terrorists. [AIN]

 

The Anbar Operations commander says security forces captured a Daesh foreign terrorist in the Albu Aitha area. [Mawazin]

 

An Anbar Operations Command source says tribal fighters trapped 5 Daesh terrorists in a house in Jaraishi, killing 4 of them and capturing the 5th, a Russian. [Harbi]

 

Hit/Baghdadi/Haditha

Jazeera Operations Command troops liberated 14 villages on the 23 km (14 mile) road between Baghdadi and Haqlaniya south of Haditha, killing 122 terrorists, destroying 14 vehicle bombs and 7 boats, in addition to defusing many booby-trapped houses and IEDs. The Iraqi Army advanced in those areas in record time as Daesh terrorists fled, leaving their weapons and vehicles. [MoD Website]

 

The Jazeera Operations Commander says his troops destroyed a Daesh van with a Kornet rocket northwest of Baghdadi, killing 6 terrorists. [Buratha]

Rutba/Western Anbar

A member of the Anbar Provincial Council says 10,000 families left their houses in Rutba after the roads were secured by Iraqi forces and were hosted in temporary camps. He says only “tens” of families remained in the city during the battles. [Maalomah]

However, the official spokesman of the Anbar PC says there was no displacement of residents when the Iraqi forces entered Rutba because the city was nearly empty. [Maalomah]

DaeshDaily comment. These statements are completely contradictory, of course, but don’t rule out the possibility (i.e., probability), that some Daesh members and supporters made an early exit when they heard the troops coming, perhaps posing as displaced persons.

 

The Mayor of Rutba says the JOC decided to keep the civilians of Rutba in their houses without evacuation. He also says there are more than 1,000 families in Rutba and that security forces are searching through and clearing the city, checking for wanted terrorists. [Mada]

 

The JOC Spokesman says Iraqi forces continued clearing Rutba from IEDs and explosives. He also says the JOC allocated military troops to Trebil road. The Jordanian government says there is no specific date for reopening for Trebil border crossing. [Maalomah]

The Anbar Police Chief says Iraqi forces killed 2 Daesh suicide terrorists and destroyed 3 tunnels in Rutba, in addition to defusing “tens” of IEDs in booby-trapped buildings. [BasNews]

 

The IFP Commander says his troops killed 3 Daesh terrorists who were on motorcycles and destroyed 2 vehicle bombs, 3 explosive vests, and 300 IEDs in Rutba. [AIN]

Makhmur/Qayara

The KRG’s counter terrorism directorate says Coalition warplanes killed Ali Al-Aswad, a Daesh official responsible for the “caliphate” personal security, in addition to the wali of Dibis in Kirkuk, and another high ranking security official near Tal Azba, east of Qayara. [BasNews]

 

A PUK official says the Coalition destroyed a Daesh IED factory in Qayara, killing or wounding 15 terrorists. Coalition planes also destroyed several Daesh boats carrying weapons and ammunition near Qayara, killing 2 terrorists. A security source says the Peshmerga, supported by Coalition warplanes, stopped a Daesh attack on Aski Mosul, killing 4 suicide terrorists wearing explosive vests and destroying 3 vehicle bombs. [Mada]

Daesh’s version says a group of its terrorists attacked Peshmerga military positions in Aski Mosul. Daesh says 4 of the terrorists detonated their explosive vests, killing or wounding several Peshmerga fighters, while the rest returned safely. [JustPaste]

A security source says Coalition warplanes killed a security official of Daesh’s “Jazeera Wilaya,” a terrorist from Tal Afar named Muhammad Hassan Al-Afri, by an airstrike on his car in Ayadhiya. [Mada]

The KDP issued a statement saying the PUK-Gorran agreement will deepen the internal disputes in the KRG. It also says the agreement will force the PUK to adopt Gorran’s “radical” position. [Rudaw]
