The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) revealed that 1.5 million children in Iraq have been displaced due to the military operations. ICRC, in a press report, says “A total of 1.5 million children in Iraq are displaced internally and are living in camps.” “More than 8,000 children who have fled fighting in Fallujah are thought to be living in a camp in Iraq,” the ICRC added. The British Ministry of Defense says it will raise the number of British troops in Iraqi by 500 soldiers in order to support Iraqi forces in liberating Mosul. That raises the numbers of British troops in Iraq to 1,400. The Ministry also says it will provide the Peshmerga with £1.4 million worth of ammunition. [AIN]

 

Prime Minister Abadi accepted the resignation of the Minister of Higher Education, Hussein Al-Shahristani, according to a statement from the PM’s office. [Mada]

 

The Chaldean Patriarch Louis Sako says Iraq will certainly be liberated from Daesh, but it is more important to fight terrorist thinking. He says real terrorists are not only those that execute terrorist attacks, but even more so those who theorize, instigate and finance violence. [Sumaria]

The Intelligence Service says it found dozens of IEDs in addition to an explosives vest and other weapons and ammunition in a search of different locations in Baghdad city. [Ghad]

An MoI source says two people were killed and nine wounded when an IED exploded near a market in Saba Al-Bor. [Mada]

A local police source says the body of a man who was shot was recovered from the Tigris River in Taji. [Maalomah]

A security source says Coalition warplanes destroyed a Daesh hideout in the Albu Ubaid area, killing 6 terrorists and wounding 1. [Mada]

 

The Anbar Operations Commander says Coalition warplanes killed 5 Daesh terrorists who were trying to dig a trench in the Tarabsha area northwest of Ramadi. [Sumaria]

 

The IWMC says Iraqi forces destroyed 40 IEDs in the Albu Risha area. It also says Iraqi forces found 13 IEDs in a house the Zangoura area. [Etejah]

Hit/Haditha

Jazeera Operations Command troops destroyed a Daesh vehicle in Hit District. [Etejah]

 

The Jazeera Operations Commander says his troops destroyed more than 400 Daesh IEDs in the Dolab area. He says Daesh booby-trapped roads, houses, mosques, and schools. He also says the plan to liberate western Anbar areas is going well and all of these areas will be liberated within the next few days. [BasNews]

 

Rutba

A tribal PMF commander says the IFP stopped a Daesh attack on its headquarters in Abulah village in Rutba, killing 12 Daesh terrorists and destroying 2 vehicles. [Maalomah]

 

A PMF commander says his troops and Iraqi Border Guard units stopped a Daesh attack on the Akashat intersection west of Rutba, destroying 3 vehicles and forcing the rest to flee. [Sumaria]

 

Western Anbar

A tribal PMF commander says large military reinforcements arrived at the Ain Al-Asad base. He says Iraqi forces are preparing for a large military campaign in western Anbar. [Maalomah]

 

The IWMC says Iraqi F-16s destroyed a Daesh car-rigging factory and a communications center in Ubaidi subdistrict in Al-Qa’im, killing 10 terrorists. [Ghad]

SALAHUDDIN

Shirqat

Displaced people from Shirqat say Daesh is cutting off water and food supplies from people and the food prices are rising exponentially. He says Daesh is also preventing people from leaving by using snipers and IEDs. He says more than thirteen people, including women and children, died within the last 3 days due to the lack of food and water. [Maalomah]

A Salahuddin Operations Command source says two children from Shirqat, age 1 and 1 and 1/2 died of thirst while their families were escaping Shirqat toward Baiji. A Shirqat District source says six people have died so far because of the lack of food and medical supplies. [Mada]

An Iraqi Army source says a woman and her three children were killed by a Daesh land mine as they were trying to escape Shirqat. [BasNews]

 

Salahuddin Operations Command says its troops defused 15 IEDs in the Mujama’at area in Shirqat District. [Mawazin]

 

A member of the Salahuddin Provincial Council says Daesh is in control of only Shirqat city and 7 surrounding villages. He says Daesh controls only 10% of Salahuddin mostly desert areas. He says Iraqi forces are delaying the liberation of Shirqat because they don’t want to repeat the destruction that occurred in Baiji. [AIN]

 

Baiji

Salahuddin Operations Command says its troops destroyed a Daesh hideout and 2 vehicles in Ain Al-Baidha, north of Makhoul, killing 10 terrorists. Iraqi forces also destroyed 2 machine gun-mounted vehicles in the Dibis area in Makhoul subdistrict. [Mawazin]

 

The IWMC says the IAA destroyed 2 Daesh vehicles, killing 6 terrorists near Makhoul. [Etejah]

 

Daesh says it attacked Iraqi forces in the Makhoul Mountain area and destroyed a military position and an SUV. [A3maq]

 

Tikrit

A PMF commander says Daesh has returned to the Mtaibija area between Diyala and Salahuddin and is using it as a launch pad for vehicle bombs. He says the area was liberated a year ago, but the plan for holding the ground is weak and Daesh sleeper cells are increasing and thriving. [Sumaria]

The IWMC says Explosive Ordinance Disposal personnel defused an IED that was planted by a popular cafe in Abu Saida subdistrict. [Etejah]

 

Southern Diyala

The Diyala Police spokesman says his troops captured 7 men wanted on terrorism charges in Khan Bani Saad subdistrict. He says the terrorists participated in several attacks, destroying a Shia mosque, the Personnel Affairs Directorate building, and 4 houses. The terrorists had also killed four civilians from Baghdad and stolen their money. [Mada]

 

KIRKUK

Hawija

A security source says Daesh appointed a new military commander in Hawija after the previous commander fled to parts unknown. The source says most Daesh foreign terrorists have left the city and the remaining terrorists, local men accustomed to threatening and torturing people, started to beg forgiveness from people, saying that they were forced to commit the acts that they had committed. NINEWA

Mosul

The French government spokesman says France and the United States are preparing for a coordinated attack on Mosul. [Baghdadia]

 

A senior MoD officer says Iraqi planes dropped 3 millions leaflets on the west side of Mosul, asking the citizens to stay away from Daesh headquarters and cooperate with Iraqi troops who come to liberate the city. [BasNews]

 

A Turkmen MP warns of sectarian violence in Ninewa after the liberation of Mosul. She says people from minorities who were attacked by Daesh Arab supporters might seek revenge. She also says sectarian conflict might start in Tal Afar because of the Daesh crimes against Shia people in that district, because many Daesh senior commanders are from Tal Afar. [Maalomah]

 

A Ninewa police source says Coalition warplanes destroyed 13 Daesh media centers in different areas in Mosul. Another source says Coalition warplanes destroyed a Daesh hospital in Adhba village, killing ten doctors and nurses, including Syrians and Libyans. [BasNews]

A local source says the Suqoor Ninewa Brigade killed several Daesh terrorists and commanders in Mosul using silenced guns.

He also says Coalition warplanes bombed a Daesh target in Hay Al-Tahrir on the east side of Mosul, killing 14 terrorists. Another Coalition airstrike destroyed a Daesh vehicle, killing a foreign Daesh commander and 3 other Daesh terrorists near Hay Al-Karama. [PUKMedia]

 

Local sources say Daesh is using an Assyrian Catholic facility in Mosul’s Sha’arin area as a prison and torture house for women who violate Daesh’s orders. [Karemlash]

 

A PUK official says Coalition warplanes destroyed an important Daesh position in Shura District, the subdistrict just north of Qayara, killing a local commander and 5 of his bodyguards. [PUKMedia]

 

Makhmur/Qayara

The Chairman of the Security Committee in Ninewa PC refuted media reports about Daesh convoys headed toward Iraqi forces in Qayara Airfield. He says that, to the contrary, Daesh is heading toward Syria. [Maalomah]

 

The IWMC says Coalition warplanes destroyed 2 Daesh vehicles, killing 7 terrorists, near the Qayara Airfield. It says the terrorists were dressed as Counter Terrorism Service soldiers. [Etejah]

 

Daesh says it targeted Iraqi forces in the residential compound of the Qayara Airfield, killing several soldiers. [A3maq]

 

Daesh says it damaged an Iraqi Army Humvee and another armored vehicle in battles south of Qayara. [A3maq]

The MoD says Iraqi forces liberated east and west Awsaja villages on the road between Makhmur and Qayara, killing tens of terrorists. [Baghdadia]

Babel

The Babel Police say they found an IED and weapons, explosives, and military equipment in a house in Musayyib. [Mada]

 

The IWMC says Iraqi forces defused an IED in the Buhairat area in north Babel. [Etejah]

A Kerbala police source says security personnel captured a man from Ramadi wanted on terrorism charges, at a checkpoint in Karbala. [Maalomah]

Le Figaro says around 100 foreign terrorists are still crossing the border from Turkey to Syria every day, according to French Intelligence sources. [Sumaria]

 

REPORTS FROM SYRIA

 

Northwest (Aleppo, Idlib)

Manbij campaign. MMC fighters liberated Hazawana after days of heavy battles, killing more than 62 Daesh terrorists. [Hawar] [Hawar]

A video of MMC fighters in Hay Al-Hazawana. MMC fighters say in the video that Daesh has booby-trapped everything in the houses in Manbij to stop their advances. Another fighter says that by liberating Hazawana, the MMC is only 500m away from Manbij city center. [Hawar]

The Manbij Military Council issued another statement refuting media reports about the death of civilians in Hay Al-Hazawana. [Hawar]

 

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights says six Syrian Democratic Forces fighters were killed in battles in Manbij. [SyriaHR]

 

The Free Syrian Army issued a statement saying that it condemns the killing of two hundred civilians by an airstrike in Toukhar, holding the international Coalition responsible and demanding an open investigation. It says what happened in Toukhar may be part of a PYD plan to change the demographics in Syria and divide the country. [Qasioun]

The Syrian National Coalition sent a message to the ministers of foreign affairs of the Coalition countries, demanding an immediate suspension of military operations in Syria after the “massacres” in Manbij. [EnabBaladi]

Elsewhere in northwest Syria. More than 8,300 displaced people, in addition to thousands of children, arrived in Afrin, escaping Daesh controlled areas and other battle areas since July 12th. [Hawar]

A family of 50 members who escaped from Raqqa says it paid $5,000 dollars to Daesh terrorists to allow them to leave for Afrin. [Hawar]

 

An opposition commander says opposition groups, supported by Coalition warplanes, captured Dudyan after a heavy attack on Daesh and destroyed a vehicle bomb. He also says heavy battles continue between the opposition and Daesh near Baraghida village near the Turkish border. [ARA]

Egypt

Egyptian Counter Terrorism troops killed 12 Ansar Bait Al-Maqdis terrorists after a raid on a hideout in Tayra village south of Rafah that was preceded by artillery shelling. The troops found a secret explosives storehouse that has 15 tons of TNT and C4. The troops also found another storehouse used by Ansar Bait Al-Maqdis for spare vehicles and motorcycle parts. Security sources say Egyptian troops are fighting street battles against Ansar Bait Al-Maqdis terrorists near the Sheikh Zuweid Police Station. The sources say 3 terrorists were captured and 20 remain at large. [VetoGate] The troops also killed 5 terrorists and captured a truck. Eyewitnesses say Ansar Bait Al-Maqdis planted 4 IEDs on the International Road in Sheikh Zuweid. [VetoGate]

 

A 57 year old civilian was wounded in the clashes between the security and terrorists near the Sheikh Zuweid hospital. [VetoGate]

 

A security source says 2 takfiri terrorists shot at a security vehicle in Nakhal city in central Sinai, killing two soldiers. [VetoGate]

 

Libya

Northeast

The French Minister of Defense says three French soldiers were killed in Libya. French media outlets say two French special forces soldiers were killed when armed groups shot down their helicopter in Benghazi. [ARA]

A source in the French special forces told Agence France Press that the three soldiers were military advisers in a recon mission. Their helicopter was shot down in the Maqroun area, 65 km (40 miles) west of Benghazi. [AfriGate]

French President Francois Hollande says the three soldiers were killed on a “dangerous intelligence mission”. [Wasat]

 

The Libyan National Army Spokesman says there are no foreign troops fighting with the army on the ground, but he says three French intelligence members who were monitoring the movements of a Boko Haram related group in west Benghazi were killed. He says that a large group from Boko Haram is fighting with the Benghazi Defense Brigade. [AfriGate]

A Libyan air force source says Libyan warplanes launched 3 airstrikes on Daesh locations in Sirte city, killing or wounding several terrorists. A military source says the battles continued in south Sirte and government troops are advancing in the Ibn Sina Hospital and the Ouagadougou compound areas. [Wasat]

 

Tunisia

Security sources say Tunisian Counter Terrorism troops captured more than 10 terrorism suspects in Sidi Bouzid. [Tunisien]

 

The Tunisian Ministry of Interior says security captured a Daesh cell in Sousse, [Wasat]

 

Morocco

The Morocco Ministry of Interior says it foiled a large Daesh plan to attack several areas in the country, arresting 6 terrorists. [Sumaria]

Daesh says it detonated an IED on a Yemeni Army gathering in Aden, killing seven soldiers and wounding six. [JustPaste]

Belgium

The Belgian Police arrest 10 Iraqi refugees for suspected links with Daesh, according to the Gazette newspaper. The newspaper says the police released one of the prisoners after concluding his investigation. Another newspaper says 15 refugees from Baghdad and Mosul might have links to Daesh. They say a woman of Moroccan origin provided assistance for members of the “Iraqi cell”. [Ghad]
